Educating the Workforce of the Future
The future and vibrancy of the Massachusetts technology sector is
dependent on a strong commitment to public education and a deliberate
nurturing of the entrepreneurial spirit.
The goal of the Council’s IT workforce initiatives is to
foster the development of an adequate supply of skilled workers.
The Council has focused on both education and training, both K –
12 and higher education, and both teachers and students.
Current efforts to educate the workforce of the future include:

- Boston University Student Design Program – Higher Education
- Commonwealth Information Technology Initiative (CITI) –

- National Science Foundation Study of Men and Women in the IT
